Business solutions in action - when should I start following the exercises?

Hi,

I'm currently following the Business solutions in action course.

Yesterday, I completed the PowerUp introduction course. Below the video, it stated:

"This video is for demonstration purposes only, and no lab or exercise is required to follow along."

So I only watched the videos.

Today I started the Dataverse course, and I'm unsure from which point I should start following the instructor's actions. I'm currently at chapter 6, Create a School Maintenance solution, and I'm not sure if I should just watch the videos or actively replicate the steps shown.

I appreciate your feedback.

Best regards,

Hessel

Great question, and you’re on the right track.

In the Power Up Program, not all modules are meant to be hands-on. The introduction videos are usually just for understanding concepts, so watching is enough.

For the Dataverse course (especially from “Create a School Maintenance solution” onward), you should definitely start following along and building as you go. This is where the real learning happens.

    A simple rule of thumb:
    • If it’s marked as demo or intro → just watch
    • If it’s a solution build or scenario → follow along step by step
If you skip the hands-on parts, you may find later exercises harder to follow.

You’re at exactly the right point to switch from watching to doing.
