Teaching Power Pages in an academic setting is a great way to introduce students to low-code/no-code web development, data integration, and secure portals. Here's a structured approach to help you teach it effectively:

    🧭 1. Curriculum Structure

Week 1: Introduction to Power Pages

    • What is Power Pages?
    • Use cases (customer portals, student portals, etc.)
    • Overview of the Power Platform

    Week 2: Setting Up

    • Creating a Power Pages site
    • Exploring the design studio
    • Understanding templates and layout

Week 3: Web Pages & Navigation

    • Creating and editing web pages
    • Adding navigation menus
    • Using sections, columns, and components

    Week 4: Dataverse Integration

    • Introduction to Microsoft Dataverse
    • Creating tables and relationships
    • Displaying data on Power Pages

    Week 5: Forms and Lists

    • Creating forms for data entry
    • Displaying lists of records
    • Customizing form behavior

    Week 6: Security and Permissions

    • Web roles and table permissions
    • Authentication options
    • Controlling access to pages and data

    Week 7: Advanced Customization

    • Using Liquid templates
    • JavaScript and CSS in Power Pages
    • Custom web templates and snippets

    Week 8: Real-World Project

    • Students build a mini portal (e.g., student registration, event management)
    • Presentations and feedback

    🧰 2. Tools & Resources

    • Power Pages Studio: https://make.powerpages.microsoft.com
    • Microsoft Learn Modules:
      • Create and design a Power Pages site
      • Secure your site with roles and permissions
    • Sample Templates: Use built-in templates like "Customer Self-Service" or "Blank Site" for hands-on practice.

    🎓 3. Teaching Tips

    • Use Microsoft 365 Developer Program to get free access to Power Platform tools for your students.
    • Encourage students to collaborate in teams on portal projects.
    • Use real-world scenarios (e.g., student feedback portal, internship application portal).
    • Include quizzes and mini-challenges to reinforce learning.
