Create the first website in Microsoft Power Pages

After activating a 30-day free trial environment, it is time to create our first Microsoft Power Pages website.

Go to the Make Power Pages portal at https://make.powerpages.microsoft.com and select the correct Dataverse environment in which to host the website using the environment selector at the top right bar:

Then select "Create a site":

It's time to choose the design. There are currently 5 models available that will be integrated shortly. Then select one of these currently available:

  • Defaults
  • Meeting planning
  • School path consultation
  • Permit request
  • Onboarding new employees

Since it is your first website, I suggest you select the default one for simplicity:

Next you need to choose Name to assign to the web address, Address and Language. The wizard will perform validation and you will then be able to confirm:

Once the website is created, a process that usually takes 5 minutes, you will have the ability from the Make Power Pages portal to:

  • Edit and then customize the website
  • Manage configuration from the admin panel
  • Preview both desktop and mobile by photographing the QR Code

If everything went well, this below is the preview of your website:

By selecting Manage, you will be able to take action on the configuration thanks to the admin panel and perform all administrative operations (restart, reset, integrations, etc..):

For all other customizations, even the advanced pro-code ones, you will be able to reach the appropriate Power App for the management of the back-end of the Portal Management site

Then view the configuration records in the Power Pages Datamodel!

At this point your website is set up correctly. In the next article I will show you how to add a custom page.
