Get Contacts Using Power Automate Desktop
Power Automate Desktop is a powerful design tool that can be used to build daily tasks. Using Power Automate for desktops created many opportunities to improve quality and customer satisfaction. Both the web actions and desktop actions can be combined or run independently to finish your daily tasks.
Introduction
This blog describes our own implementation of an automated flow on ‘Get Contacts from Outlook’. We are going to export contacts from outlook, which is already updated, and save them an excel file. This BOT helps users to save all contacts from outlook to an excel file.
Prerequisites
Before you get started, you need:
1) Power automate Desktop
2) Microsoft Outlook
3) Microsoft Excel
Steps Involved
- Open Power Automate Desktop => Create a new flow. We can name it “Get Contacts” and click on create.
- Our first step is to Launch Outlook. Then choose ‘File’ from the menu tab. Click on open and export. Then click on Import/Export.
- Click on Export to a file and then click Next. Select Contacts and again click on Next and specify the path where the contacts should be saved and then click on Finish to start exporting Contacts immediately. The contacts are exported and stored in Excel. Close the Outlook.
Let us run the flow:
- BOT will open the file from the Menu tab
- Click on Open and Export. Then click on Import/Export.
- Click on Export to a file
- Select Contacts
Output
- The below image shows our contacts Exported to Excel Sheet which was present in the Outlook.
