What’s happening?
When creating a new SharePoint Connector using the on-premises data gateway, the system requires the entry of "Windows" authentication.
When creating a new SharePoint Connector using the on-premises data gateway, the system requires the entry of "Windows" authentication.
Reason:
The Windows authentication is required because the SharePoint on-premises data gateway connection method interacts with a SharePoint server that is stored on a Windows machine, rather than using normal SharePoint online services.

Resolution:
To configure Windows authentication for the SharePoint Connector, the following information must be provided:
- Username: The Windows machine username used to log into the machine. This can be retrieved using the command prompt with the command “Whoami” in CMD/PowerShell.
- Password: The Windows machine password used to log into the machine.
- Gateway: The installed gateway on the Windows machine that you are trying to connect to.
Once the correct credentials are provided, the connection should be established successfully, allowing the retrieval of SharePoint on-premises lists.
