What’s happening?
Desktop flows do not recognize apps running with administrative privileges.

Reason:
The underlying cause appears to be that the Desktop flows do not have administrative privileges, which prevents them from recognizing windows that are executed with administrative rights.

Resolution:

  1. Ensure that Power Automate Desktop is not running in the Windows system tray before starting it.
  2. Right-click the Power Automate icon and select "Run as administrator" to launch it with administrative privileges.
  3. To confirm that Power Automate is running with administrative rights, open the Windows Task Manager, navigate to the Details tab, right-click on PAD.Console.Host.exe, and select Properties. Under the Compatibility tab, check the box for "Run this program as an administrator."
  4. After making these adjustments, trigger the desktop flow from the cloud flow again to see if this persists.
  5. If the problem continues, try running both Power Automate Desktop and the target app with the same privileges (either both as administrator or both without administrative privileges).
