What’s happening?
After deploying Copilot to Microsoft Teams, specific users experience unexpected behavior when opening certain applications. This includes not receiving greetings and receiving the same incorrect responses regardless of the questions asked.
 

Reason:

  1. The application provided unexpected responses or no responses at all in Teams, while it worked correctly in the Copilot Studio portal.
  2. After uninstalling and reinstalling the bot, the initial greeting message was not displayed in Teams, although it worked fine in the Copilot Studio portal.
  3. There were instances where the same answer was displayed even when different questions were asked.

 

Resolution:

  1. Disconnect and reconnect the Teams integration in the Copilot Studio portal.
  2. If issues persist, monitor the situation for a week to ensure the problems do not recur.
  3. If the bot does not provide an initial greeting after being re-added, create a new topic in Copilot Studio and set the trigger to "Activity Received" with the "Activity type" changed to "Installation update."
  4. Save the topic and publish the copilot to ensure it starts a conversation with a message.
