What’s happening?
In PowerApps, the access request function only sends an email to the app owner. Co-owners and other users do not receive access request emails, leading to confusion and potential delays in granting access.

Reason:
The current design of the access request feature restricts notifications to only the primary app owner. Co-owners do not receive access request emails, and service accounts used to create apps do not receive any access request notifications.

Resolution:

  • It is currently not possible to disable the request access feature in PowerApps.
  • Users can submit a feature request through the Power Apps Ideas portal for enhancements regarding access request notifications.
  • If a user wants the email to go to a specific user, it is suggested to change the ownership of the app to that user using PowerShell commands.
  • For troubleshooting, users should perform the following:
    • Record the steps to reproduce this and collect network traces.
    • Open the PowerApps portal with an account that is not the owner of the app.
    • Request access to the app and take a screenshot of the request.
    • Download the network trace and upload it along with the recorded steps for further investigation.
  • If there are any issues with receiving emails, users should check their email settings and ensure that the app is shared correctly.
