What’s happening?
Customers are unable to complete the Project original budget workflow specifically for the item category after upgrading from AX 2012 to a newer version. While workflows for other categories such as hours and expenses are functioning correctly, the item category is not completing, and the project category is not reflected in the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
Reason:
This arises due to a missing number sequence reference, which prevents the generation of necessary numbers for the workflow.

Resolution:
To resolve this, follow these steps to generate missing number sequence:
1. Navigate to the 'Number sequences' form (Organization administration> Number sequences> Number sequences)
2. Click on 'Generate'.
3. Delete all records from this form that do not have the references ‘Work line pair ID’.
4. Ensure that only the records with the reference 'Work line pair ID' remain on this form after deletion.
5. Click 'Next' and then 'Finish'.
