What’s happening?
When clicking the "Dimensions" button on the Posted project transactions form within Dynamics 365 Finance, the expected Dimensions display dialog form does not open. Clicking the button results in no action or response.

This is known and has already been reported to product team.

Resolution:
Upon further investigation, we have determined that while this is a wrong behavior, it does not meet the level required for us to fix at this time.  We evaluate this based on factors such as the impact to the overall business process, or the availability of a valid workaround.
You can have more than one line in a posted transaction, so it is not clear on if this should work or not as multiple products may exist in a single posted project transaction. If you click a level deeper into the project subledger transaction or inventory lines, then display dimensions menu item works.
