What’s happening?
Customers experience changes in public IP addresses after performing environment copy or restore operations, which affects their firewall rules.
Reason:
Dynamics 365 is a cloud-based service that does not provide a fixed IP for environments. The public IPs are managed dynamically by Microsoft and can change over time due to backend infrastructure updates. While it is not guaranteed that the IP will change during a copy or restore, Microsoft does not ensure that the IP remains the same.
Resolution:
- If relying on IP-based security, it is recommended to use Microsoft-provided service tags or Azure networking solutions for stability.
