What’s happening?
The customer is experiencing slow processing times when executing batch processing for inventory management, specifically for on-hand inventory with over 10,000 detail lines. Currently, processing 14,159 detail lines takes approximately 14 hours, and the customer is inquiring about the possibility of parallel processing or any features to speed up this batch processing.

Reason:
Information indicates that executing a cleanup of on-hand entries can significantly reduce the time required for creating inventory detail lines. Additionally, using batch concurrency control can ensure that high-priority batch jobs have sufficient resources allocated.

Resolution:

  1. Execute the "On-Hand Entry Cleanup" to potentially reduce processing time for inventory detail line creation. This can be accessed via:
  2. Inventory Management > Periodic Tasks > Cleanup > On-Hand Entry Cleanup.
  3. Utilize batch concurrency control to allocate sufficient resources to high-priority batch jobs. This involves:
  4. Enabling the "Batch Concurrency Management" feature in the feature management.
  5. Navigating to the batch group page.
  6. Selecting the batch group to which concurrency limits will be applied and setting the maximum number of concurrent executions.
  7. For further details on how to use batch concurrency control, refer to the published document on priority-based batch scheduling:
