What’s happening?
Questions regarding the deprecation of the Standard Data Model and the migration process to the Enhanced Data Model.
Reason:
There has been no public announcement regarding the deprecation of the Standard Data Model. It is concluded that both the Standard and Enhanced Data Models will be supported alongside each other in the near future.
Resolution:
- There is currently no information about the deprecation of the Standard Data Model. Microsoft will notify customers of any changes through a public announcement.
- For migration from the Standard Data Model to the Enhanced Data Model, specific steps can be found in the documentation Migrate standard data model sites to enhanced data model (preview) | Microsoft Learn This document is still in preview, meaning features may not be available in every environment and are subject to change.
- The time required for migration can vary based on factors such as the size and complexity of the data, and it is subjective to determine the difficulty of the process. Customers are encouraged to reach out for assistance if they encounter any issues during migration.
