What’s happening?
Users are experiencing degraded performance and unresponsiveness in the modern UI of Dynamics 365, particularly during actions such as selecting filters for columns, selecting multiple records, performing bulk actions, and updating records.
Reason:
The performance degradation is due to how the modern UI handles large datasets, especially when views contain more than 5,000 records. The new contextual filters rely on existing data and filters, which can significantly slow down operations. Additionally, the removal of the toggle option to revert to the classic UI in app settings has limited users' ability to mitigate these issues.

Resolution:
Temporary Workaround
Users can disable the modern UI experience by updating the environment setting in Power Apps: Navigate to Power Apps > Open the existing solution > Go to Settings > Add the setting “New Look for Model-driven app” > Set the “Setting environment value” to No.
Note: If this setting is not visible, contact Microsoft Support to enable this configuration in the production environment.
Alternative Mitigation
Use the Power Apps read-only grid control, which is optimized for the modern UI and supports pagination, improving performance for large datasets.
Long-Term Recommendation
Report the issue to the Dynamics 365 product team via official support channels or feedback portals. Encourage ongoing performance optimization and feature enhancements for the modern UI.
Tip: Regularly review and optimize views and filters to reduce dataset size and improve responsiveness.
