What’s happening?
Users are experiencing latency and slow performance when accessing Power Pages/Portals, particularly during transitions between pages or when loading specific functionalities.
Reason:
The performance issues are attributed to underlying infrastructure problems that caused high CPU usage, affecting the responsiveness of the portals. Additionally, the lack of allocated capacity for the website may contribute to slow performance.
Resolution:
- Ensure that the website has allocated proper capacity. Adding more capacity provides a more scalable website.
- Enable Content Delivery Network (CDN) for static content in configuration settings.
- Review the page configuration, including any plugins on the entity being referenced in the page with slow performance.
- Check the performance of the entity on Dataverse first.
- Run the site checker on the website and address any configuration issues.
- Review the checklist to rule out any configuration issues.
- Restart the portal to check if it resolves the performance issue.
- If the performance issue is specific to updated records being visible in the pages, clear the server-side cache as automatic cache updates have a service level agreement of 15 minutes.
- For trial portals, consider converting to production and allocating the needed licenses to improve performance.
