What’s happening?
Outdated knowledge base (KB) articles are displayed in the Popular and Featured articles sections of the customer self-service portal, leading to confusion among users.
Reason:
The display of popular KB articles is based on the number of views and ratings, with only the top five articles being shown. The Featured articles section is not powered by Runtime, and there is no logic for automatic updates in this section.
Resolution:
- To update the Popular and Top-Rated articles, change the number of views and ratings on the particular knowledge article entity to make it appear in these sections.
- For the Featured articles, refer to the documentation on how to manage featured content: Featured Articles Documentation.
- Ensure that the current setup is coming from the template provided by the customer and check if any customizations have been made.
- Verify the values of the relevant attributes on the knowledge article table to assist in further investigation.
