What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing issues with enabling Long Term Data Retention policies in a managed environment. Despite setting up the necessary configurations, the jobs do not appear to run, and no retained tables are created.
 

Reason:
The organization was in AdminOnly mode, which disabled background processing. This led to the cancellation of all asynchronous jobs related to data retention, including marking and purging processes.
 

Resolution:

  1. Confirm that the organization is not in AdminOnly mode. If it is, disable AdminOnly mode to allow background processing.
  2. Set up a new Long Term Data Retention policy and validate its functionality.
