What’s happening?
The customer is experiencing daily alerts regarding an authentication key that expired on a specified date, causing notifications to be sent despite the key being no longer valid.


Reason:
This arose from an active site that was believed to have been disabled, which still contained the expired authentication key.


Resolution:

  1. Locate the active site associated with the expired key.
  2. Disable the site if it is no longer needed.
  3. Alternatively, update the authentication key by following the official documentation Manage website authentication key | Microsoft Learn for managing website authentication keys. This process requires the user to be the owner of the website and have the necessary administrative roles.
  4. If the key update fails, utilize the retry action to restart the authentication key update process.
