What’s happening?
Customers are inquiring about the ability to assign temporary security roles to users for specific time periods, particularly in scenarios where a primary user is unavailable, such as during leave.
Reason:
Currently, there is no standard function available in the system to set a time limit for a security role. Users cannot hold both submitter and approver roles simultaneously in the workflow, which can lead to conflicts when assigning temporary roles.
Resolution:
- It is necessary to manually assign and remove security roles for users as there is no automated function to set a time limit for these roles.
- For scenarios involving workflow approvals, customers can utilize the delegation feature. This allows another user to approve on behalf of the absent user. To access this feature, navigate to the user options, select workflow, and then delegation on the account that needs to delegate the work.
- Customers can check user security roles using available reports to identify users holding both approver and requester roles.
