Update on Security Role Assignment in Dynamics 365

What’s happening?
The customer is unable to assign security roles to users in the environment using the System Customizer role, and is inquiring about any recent changes or updates from Microsoft regarding this functionality.
 

Reason:
The System Customizer role primarily focuses on data management and does not have the authority to assign roles to users. Only the System Administrator role possesses the necessary privileges to assign roles, which is essential for maintaining the security and integrity of the system.
 

Resolution:

• It is confirmed that there is no workaround to use the System Customizer role for assigning roles to users.
