What’s happening?
While using the bot, Copilot requires authentication, but the user cannot create a connection to Dataverse. The error message displayed is "You don't have permission to manage connection of Copilot."

Reason:
This may arise due to improper authentication and Single Sign-On (SSO) configurations. Additionally, cross-tenant connections are not supported, which can prevent successful connections.

Resolution:

  1. Ensure that the authentication and SSO configurations are set up correctly, as this is often the root cause of this.
  2. If using manual authentication, verify that the authentication configuration steps were followed exactly as described in the relevant documentation.
  3. For users utilizing the default Microsoft Entra ID authentication, reconfigure the Copilot to use Microsoft Entra ID authentication in Teams and PowerApps, then republish the Copilot to Microsoft Teams. Note that it may take a few hours for changes to take effect.
  4. If the user is in the middle of a conversation and the changes do not appear to have taken effect, they can type "Start Over" in the chat to restart the Copilot conversation from the latest published state.
  5. For common issues related to using SharePoint as a data source, such as missing results or user permissions, review the relevant articles on Microsoft Copilot Studio for guidance.
