The customer inquired about the use of the "Use in-memory data storage on device" switch on the Devices form, noting a lack of literature explaining its purpose and seeking clarification on its necessity.
Reason:
The "Use in-memory data storage" setting on a device applies to POS applications. When this setting is enabled, no activation or configuration data is stored on the POS computer's hard drive, meaning that every time the POS application is launched, the cashier will need to go through the activation process.
Resolution:
- It is generally recommended to set this switch to "No" in production environments, as this is the default setting.
- The setting may be useful for certain testing purposes, but in production scenarios, it should not be enabled.
