What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing issues with email mapping from identity providers (such as Okta and Entra) to the Contact table in PowerPages. Specifically, when users change their email addresses in the identity provider, the new email does not update in the corresponding field in PowerPages.
Reason:
- The email mapping configuration may not be correctly set up to reflect changes made in the identity provider. This can occur if the claims sent by the identity provider do not match the expected format or if there are inconsistencies in the configuration.
- This may arise after changes to the DNS settings or customizations made to the PowerPages portal, which can disrupt the mapping functionality.
Resolution:
For issues with email mapping:
- Ensure that the email claim is correctly configured in the identity provider to match the expected format in PowerPages. For example, the mapping should be set to emailaddress1=http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/05/identity/claims/emailaddress.
- Restart the PowerPages site after making changes to the configuration to ensure that the updates take effect.
- Verify that the redirect URLs configured in the identity provider match those in the PowerPages setup.
