What’s happening?
On the Point of Sale (POS) system, when completing a sale, a popup appears based on the "receipt format" settings. Although all settings are configured to "prompt user," the email toggle switch is disabled by default. This behavior is inconsistent with previous functionality where the toggle was enabled prior to the implementation of features related to emailing receipts.
Reason:
The default email toggle button is set to "Off" to ensure that the cashier explicitly confirms the customer's preference for receiving an email receipt. This design choice aims to prevent sending email receipts without the customer's consent and allows the cashier to verify and enter the correct email address if necessary.
Resolution:
- When using the "Prompt user" option for the receipt format in the POS, the toggle to send the receipt by email is defaulted to "Off." This is intended behavior as per the system's design.
