What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing issues with the visibility of on-hand quantities in the Point of Sale (POS) system. Specifically, the on-hand quantity is not visible in the POS for new stores, while the stock is available in the headquarters system.
Reason:
The underlying cause of this may relate to the configuration of the POS functionality profiles and the synchronization of inventory data between the headquarters and the POS system.
Resolution:
To resolve the visibility issue of on-hand quantities in the POS, follow these steps:
- Check Inventory Visibility: Verify if the inventory is visible on the POS.
- Run On-Hand Consistency Check: If the inventory is not visible, run an on-hand consistency check to identify and fix any data discrepancies.
- Add Inventory: If the inventory is still not visible, add inventory using the Inventory Adjustment Journal instead of the Movement Journal.
- Run Full Sync: After adding inventory, run a full synchronization to ensure that the updates are reflected in the POS.
- Switch POS Functionality Profiles: If the issue persists, switch the POS functionality profiles from Real-time service to the database mode. Then, run a full sync again and verify the inventory visibility.
- Enable Inventory Lookup: For additional visibility, enable the inventory lookup feature in the POS by navigating to the following path in the headquarters: Retail > Setup > POS Setup > POS Profiles > Functionality Profiles. In the Functions FastTab, set the Inventory Availability Calculation Mode to "Real-time service – channel" and ensure that the updates are synced to the POS by running the appropriate distribution schedule job.
