What’s happening?
More than one resource is getting synced in Dynamics 365 for a single Active Directory account, resulting in multiple users being created with different email addresses.
Reason:
This arises when a user’s email is changed in Active Directory (AD) from an external user to a full-time user. This process leads to the creation of duplicate users in Dynamics 365, as the system does not properly update the existing user information.
Resolution:
- The customer should ensure that when a user is modified in AD, the corresponding user in Dynamics 365 is also deleted manually if it is not automatically removed.
- It is recommended to create a test user in Dynamics 365 and monitor the sync process after making changes to the user details in AD. This will help confirm if the sync is functioning correctly.
- For further assistance, the customer should refer to the Microsoft documentation on deleting users from an environment. Delete users from an environment - Power Platform | Microsoft Learn
