What’s happening?
The customer is inquiring about data destruction methods related to the system termination of the RSC (Resilient Supply Chain) system.
Reason:
The inquiry is due to the need for understanding how to effectively and completely destroy data associated with the system as it is being decommissioned.
Resolution:
- If the environment is manually deleted, operational environments can be recovered for 28 days, while other environments (such as sandboxes) can be recovered for 7 days. After these periods, recovery is not possible, and the environment will be automatically physically deleted.
- For manual deletion, refer to the following documentation:
- If the license expires, the environment will be subject to automatic deletion. For timelines regarding automatic deletion, refer to the article on Automatic deletion of Power Platform environments.
- There is no provided method for complete data destruction from the root Azure environment as a Power Platform management feature. The options available are manual deletion or automatic deletion due to license expiration.
- If data deletion is required before the license contract expiration, manual deletion of the environment is the recommended option.
