What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing issues with establishing connections using the Power Automate SFTP connector. They require specific IP address ranges for whitelisting to enable successful connections to external SFTP servers.
Reason:
The connection failures are suspected to be due to IP whitelisting restrictions on the server side. Customers have reported that the IP addresses they are attempting to whitelist do not align with the documentation provided by Microsoft.
Resolution:
- Customers should refer to the official Microsoft documentation for the complete list of IP addresses used by Power Platform connectors, including the SFTP Connector. This information can be found in the following resources:
- IP address configuration - Power Automate | Microsoft Learn
- Managed connectors outbound IP addresses | Microsoft Learn
- It is recommended that customers use service tags instead of individual IP addresses. A service tag represents a group of IP address prefixes from a given Azure service. Whenever the IP addresses change, the tags would be automatically updated, eliminating the need for customers to keep updating their firewall rules. For more information, refer to:
- Azure service tags overview | Microsoft Learn
- Customers should verify the IP addresses they have whitelisted against the updated lists provided in the documentation and ensure they are using the correct tags for their environment.
