What’s happening?
When making page updates from the Power design studio editor in the NightOutEng portal, the copy field on related root pages is being set to 'undefined'.

Reason:
This appears to be related to the behavior of the Power Pages WYSIWYG editor, particularly when updates are made to imported web pages. It has been noted that this behavior is not reproducible in vanilla environments, suggesting that it may be linked to specific customizations or configurations in the affected environments.

Resolution:

  1. Testing in Fresh Environments: Create new, completely vanilla developer environments to test this. Ensure that the environments are free from any customizations.
  2. Page Creation and Updates:
  3. Create a new portal using the 'Starter Layout 2' template.
  4. Add test pages to the portal from the portal editor.
  5. Inspect the pages to confirm that there are no issues with the copy in the root pages.
  6. Download and Upload Process:
  7. Use the PAC CLI to download the portal from the source environment.
  8. Upload the freshly downloaded portal to the target environment using the PAC CLI.
  9. Activate the uploaded portal in the target environment and check the root web pages for the copy field.
  10. Update Page Settings: Update the page settings on an imported page from the editor and check if the 'undefined' value appears in the copy column for the root page.
  11. Network Traces: If this persists, collect network traces during the following scenarios:
  12. When making changes to migrated and new web pages in the design studio.
  13. Before and after making changes from the management app.
  14. OData Call: Use the OData call to fetch webpage details to confirm the values of the fields.
If this is no longer reproducible, confirm with the customer that the problem has been resolved and proceed with closing the service request. If further assistance is needed, continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.
