What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing issues with the Financial Reporter, specifically when trying to view the report "Monthly Trial Balance Entire Company." The error message displayed is: "This report can't be displayed. If this problem continues, contact your administrator." Additionally, some users encounter an internal server error with the message: "An error occurred while processing the request. (InternalServerError) / Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation."

Reason:
This may be related to a duplicate key value in the database, which is causing performance issues when viewing the generated report. It has also been noted that the report definition has a high number of rows (approximately 5400), which could contribute to the performance problems. Furthermore, if data has recently been restored from another environment without performing a data mart reset, this could also lead to missing transactions.

Resolution:

  • Perform a data mart reset after restoring the database from another environment. This is recommended to ensure that all transactions are accounted for and to resolve potential issues with missing data.
  • Simplify the report row definition to reduce the number of rows and improve performance. This can be done in the report definition form in the Report Designer.
  • If the issue persists after these steps, escalate the case to the product team for further investigation, as the issue may require deeper technical support.
