The user encounters an error message stating "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" when attempting to create an advanced filter in the "Purchase orders without confirmed delivery date" view. This occurs specifically when a table join is added with the main table set to "Purchase order lines" and the linked table set to "Items." The user expects the filter to be applied successfully, but the operation cannot be completed due to the error.
 

Reason:
The error suggests that there may be an issue in the processing of the table join or range settings within the advanced filter. This problem appears to be reproducible regardless of the specific criteria used, such as the "Buyer group."
 

Resolution:

  1. Navigate to the view "Purchase orders without confirmed delivery date."
  2. Attempt to create an advanced filter.
  3. Add a table join with the main table set to "Purchase order lines" and the linked table set to "Items."
  4. Set a range in the advanced filter using the "Items" table and derived table, and add the "Buyer group" with a specific value.
  5. If the error persists, note that there is currently no effective workaround, and users may need to manually search and filter data as a temporary solution.
