What’s happening?
Customers are unable to execute commands in specific applications when launched in Admin mode, resulting in access denied errors.
Reason:
The underlying cause of this is related to insufficient permissions for the user attempting to execute commands or access certain resources within the Power Automate for desktop application.
Resolution:
- For executing commands in the Power Automate for desktop application:
- Ensure that the Power Automate for desktop application is not running in the background. Check the system tray to confirm it is closed.
- Locate the application icon on the desktop or in the Start menu.
- Right-click on the Power Automate for desktop application icon and select "Run as administrator."
- Confirm that the application is running with elevated rights by opening the Task Manager, navigating to the "Details" tab, and checking that the application is listed with elevated privileges.
- If the issue persists, request admin access in the environment and try the steps again.
- For access denied errors:
- Verify that the user has the necessary permissions to access the required resources, such as SharePoint lists or other connectors.
- If the error occurs due to lack of permissions, ensure that the user is granted the appropriate access rights.
- If the issue continues, check for any connection errors or issues with the specific actions being executed in the flow.
