What’s happening?
Functions and menus in Microsoft Sustainability Manager (MSM) have disappeared or are no longer available, and there are difficulties connecting to the Synapse database for data ingestion.
Reason:
This with missing functions and menus in MSM was linked to the installation and deployment of the Microsoft Sustainability Manager (Essentials) package. Additionally, the inability to connect to the Synapse database was attributed to the configuration of network firewalls between online services, on-premise deployment, and the Synapse database.
Resolution:
- Restore MSM functions and menus by re-installing the MSM package.
- For connection issues with the Synapse database:
- Ensure that the configuration allows for Private Endpoints to connect to the Synapse database.
- Review the network firewall settings to ensure they permit the necessary connections.
- If issues persist, involve an engineer from the Azure Networking team to assist with the configuration and connectivity challenges.
