What’s happening?
When using the Feature allocation in preview, the system consistently returns no results, with all calculated values showing as 0. This issue persists across multiple examples, indicating that after executing allocation methods in allocation profiles, the values for all data remain at zero.
Reason:
The underlying cause appears to be related to the configuration of allocation source and destination parts of the allocation method details. It has been noted that if these parts are not fixed, the dates may not matter, leading to the observed issue.
Resolution:
- Verify that the allocation source and destination parts of the allocation method details are correctly configured. The source should be what is being allocated from, and the destination should be what is being allocated to.
- Ensure that the profile start and profile end dates capture the emissions of interest. For example, if the focus is on emissions for the year 2022, the dates should reflect that range.
- Check the allocation method details to ensure that the active period start and end dates are set correctly and are the same in each detail record.
- Create a test emission for allocation and ensure that it is set up correctly with the appropriate values.
- Run the allocation process and check the allocation results to confirm that the emissions are being processed correctly.
- If this persists, review the emissions to see whether there are emissions corresponding to the date ranges provided in the allocations.
