What’s happening?
When attempting to set a location on a Work Order Product in Field Service, an error occurs stating that the selected location should be a child of the selected warehouse. 


Reason:
This is caused by the integration between Finance and Operations (F&O) and Field Service, where duplicated location names cannot be used across different warehouses. The integration checks for unique combinations of location and warehouse, leading to errors when the same location name is used for multiple warehouses.


Resolution:

  • Rename the duplicated inventory locations, for example by adding the warehouse name to the location name. This helps avoid duplication and maintains a reference to the same warehouse.
  • After renaming the inventory locations in F&O, update the corresponding location names in Field Service to match the new names.
  • Ensure that the synchronization settings are configured to reflect these changes.
