Customers seek guidance on the best approach to maintain and update a website, particularly when managing multiple environments, including sandboxes and production.
Reason:
The need for a structured approach to update the production site while ensuring that changes are tested in a safe environment before deployment.
Resolution:
- To create a test site with the same configuration as the production site for testing configurations or changes before applying them to production, follow these steps:
- Migrate the website configurations of your production site to a new site in another (target) environment for testing purposes.
- Ensure that the Power Platform environment is either a production or sandbox environment when converting a trial or suspended website to a production website. A trial website cannot be converted to production in a trial or developer Power Platform environment.
- Once you have all the configurations as that of your production site, you can test new configurations or make changes in the test site before applying them to production.
