What’s happening?
Users encounter the error message "DA1017 - The audience validation failed" when attempting to activate the Cloud Point of Sale (CPOS) system. This issue may arise in various environments, including production and development setups.

Reason:
The underlying cause of this is typically related to misconfigurations in the identity provider settings within the Retail Headquarters. Specifically, it may involve incorrect configurations of relying parties and server resource IDs for both Personnel ID and Password logon and Microsoft Entra ID logon.

Resolution:
Verify Identity Provider Configuration:

  1. Navigate to Retail and Commerce > Headquarters setup > Parameters > Commerce shared parameters.
  2. Go to the Identity Providers tab and select the appropriate identity provider.
  3. Ensure that the relying parties are correctly configured based on the selected identity provider.
  4. Update Relying Parties: In the Relying parties section, add or update the relying parties with the correct client IDs and descriptions.
  5. Save the changes.
  6. Configure Server Resource IDs: In the Server resource IDs section, add the necessary server resource IDs and descriptions.
  7. Save the changes.
  8. After making the necessary configuration changes, run the 1110 synchronization job to ensure that all settings are updated across the system.
Recycle Application Pool (Development Environment only):
  • If immediate updates are required, recycle the application pool associated with the CPOS to clear any cached data that may be causing the issue.

Check for Additional Configuration Requirements:
  1. Ensure that the new CPOS URL is added to the App registration of CPOS redirect URIs. Refer to the following documentation for further guidance:
