What’s happening?
The system generates an error stating that "Conversion between TL and EA does not exist for product" while processing customer orders and retail statements.
Reason:
This arises because the system requires a direct conversion between units for complex transactions, such as Retail Statements, even if intermediate conversions are available. This limitation exists due to specific validations performed during retail transactions that do not support implicit conversions. Additionally, discrepancies in Supply Chain Management configurations may lead to this error.
Resolution:
- Verify Product Units of Measure (UoM):
- Ensure that both the master product and its variants have the correct UoM defined in the system.
- Check if TL (Transaction) and EA (Each) are correctly assigned and configured for the product in question.
- Set Up or Update Unit Conversions:
- Navigate to Product Information Management > Products > Released Products.
- Ensure a conversion is defined between TL and EA for the product or its master product.
- Use the Unit Conversion function under the product details to add or correct any missing conversions.
- Confirm Product and Variant Configurations:
- Verify that the product's configurations, such as variant details and channel settings, align with its UoM and that the variant inherits the correct UoM from the master product.
- Test the Fix in a Safe Environment:
- If possible, replicate the issue in a test environment after applying the corrections to confirm the changes work as expected.
- Define Direct Conversion:
- Define a direct conversion between TL and EA to prevent errors in processing.
