What’s happening?
The customer inquires whether it is possible to create sales orders using quantities from consignment stock before the ownership of the stock is transferred. They want to know if the system allows for the creation of sales orders based on the sold quantities from the consignment inventory without needing to change the ownership status first.
Reason:
The system design requires that consignment inventory must be assigned to a specific owner before it can be used in any transactions. The applications running on the system do not support the owner dimension for inventory tracking.
Resolution:
- It has been confirmed that the system does not allow for the creation of sales orders from consignment inventory before assigning it to a specific owner.
- The consignment inventory must be owned before it can be sold or used in any transactions.
