What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing data inconsistency issues where data is visible in Dataverse, but the same records show as zero in Microsoft Fabric after enabling entities from Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (FnO) to Dataverse.

Reason:
The primary issue appears to be related to the environment linking. The Dataverse environment is exclusively linked to a Dataverse setup without integration with the Finance and Operations (FO) environment. This can lead to synchronization failures and data not being transferred correctly to Microsoft Fabric.

Resolution:

  1. Verify if the Dataverse environment is linked with a Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations environment. If it is not linked, the following steps should be taken:
  2. Check if the FO environment linked with Dataverse is a development box. If it is, unlink and relink it to the appropriate environment.
  3. Ensure that the environment linking is correctly set up as a 1:1 relationship. A Dataverse environment should not be used with multiple FO environments.
  4. If the initial sync of the entity is not completed, check the status of the sync process. If it shows as "in progress" or has encountered errors, consider removing and re-adding the entity to initiate a fresh sync.
  5. Run the API call RetrieveFinanceAndOperationsIntegrationDetails to gather information about the integration status and check for any errors.
  6. Share snapshots of the output from the API call for further analysis if needed.
  7. If issues persist, schedule a call with Microsoft support for detailed troubleshooting.
