What’s happening?
The customer is unable to see their production environment as an option when attempting to copy their production template environment back over the production environment after completing smoke testing.
Reason:
The inability to copy the production template environment over the production environment is due to the restrictions in place that prevent restoring backups directly to production environments.
Resolution:
To successfully restore a backup of the production template over the production environment, the following steps should be taken:
1. Change the environment type of the production environment to a sandbox.
2. Once the production environment is converted to a sandbox, the customer can then proceed to copy the production template environment over the production environment with the "copy over everything" option selected.
3. Ensure that both the source and target environments meet the necessary criteria, such as being in the same region and having sufficient storage space available.
