What’s happening?
The customer requires assistance in creating a SQL-level restore from a backup before a specified date. The request is time-sensitive due to a backup retention period of seven days.
Reason:
Obtaining a copy of the database backup and creating a read-only SQL-level backup is not possible due to the limitations of the current environment, which is a Production environment with a default backup retention period of seven days.
Resolution:
- It is recommended to create a new environment and overwrite it with a full or minimal copy of the existing environment. After that, export the necessary components.
- To change the backup retention period, the customer must have Admin rights to run the appropriate PowerShell command. For more details, refer to the documentation on changing the backup retention period for production environments.
