What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing difficulties restoring backups in their production environments, specifically when attempting to select the current production environment for restoration.

Reason:
The inability to restore backups may be due to the target environment not meeting the necessary criteria for restoration. This includes the requirement that the source environment can be production, sandbox, or developer, while the target environment must be sandbox or developer. Additionally, both source and target environments should be in the same region.

Resolution:
Convert Environment: If the production environment is not showing up as a target for restoration, ensure that the environment is converted to a sandbox type. This is a necessary step before attempting to restore a backup to a production environment.
Check Environment Compatibility:

  1. Ensure that the source environment is a Managed Environment if the target is also a Managed Environment.
  2. Verify that both source and target environments are in the same tenant.
Storage Space: Confirm that there is sufficient storage space available in the tenant for the restoration process. The target environment must have enough capacity to accommodate the backup being restored.
Retry Operation: If the restore operation fails, retry the operation before escalating the issue.
