What’s happening?
When adding lines on a purchase document, the field Description is automatically filled with the description of the G/L account.
By Design:
The functionality of the Description field on Purchase and Sales Documents differs from that on Journal lines. The current application design does not allow for the same flexibility in the Description field for Purchase and Sales lines as it does for Journal lines.
More Information:
- The option "Omit Default Descr. in Jnl." can be deactivated on the G/L Account, which allows the Description field to be left empty when entering a journal line. However, this does not apply to purchase and sales lines.
- To address this limitation, it is recommended to submit a feature request to the Product team for consideration. This request should outline the need for similar functionality in Purchase and Sales documents as exists in Journal lines.
