What’s happening?
Customers encounter an error message stating "Source Type must have a value in Reservation: Positive=No. It cannot be zero or empty" when attempting to preview posting in the production journal.
Reason:
This arises when the system is unable to create item-related reserve entries during the preview posting of the production journal. This can occur if the items involved are not set to automatically reserve or if there are issues with the reservation entries not transferring correctly from the production journal line to the item journal line.
Resolution:
- Verify the settings of the items in the production journal to ensure they are configured for automatic reserve. If the reserve setting is set to 'Always', change it to 'Optional' and attempt to preview posting again.
- Check the Reservation Entries table for any erroneous entries related to the item in question.
