What’s happening?
Customers experience delays or hangs while importing configuration packages, specifically encountering the message "Updating validation errors" for extended periods, sometimes lasting several hours.
Reason:
The delays in importing configuration packages can be attributed to several factors: - System resources and processing power may be insufficient, especially if other processes are running concurrently. - The complexity of validation, even for a limited number of fields, can increase with larger datasets, particularly if there are data quality issues or dependencies between records. - The configuration of the target table may not be optimized for handling large imports, potentially affecting performance. - Inconsistencies or errors within the dataset being imported can prolong the validation process.
Resolution:
To resolve this of configuration packages hanging during import: - Reboot the system and attempt to import the configuration package again with no other applications open. - If the problem persists, consider importing smaller batches of data (e.g., 5,000 rows) to determine if the issue is related to the volume of data being processed. - Review system performance to check for any background processes that may be consuming resources. - Check the data in the configuration package for any inconsistencies or issues that could be causing delays during validation. - Ensure that the target table is indexed optimally for the volume of data being imported.
