Applies to Product - Dynamics 365 Business Central
What’s happening?
The customer is unable to access the trial environment after creating it. An error message indicates that the user does not have access and must be a member of a security group associated with the environment.
Reason:
The underlying cause may be related to the user's membership in the appropriate security group or the existence of a pre-existing Business Central account that conflicts with the trial setup.
Resolution:
Verify Security Membership:
- Go to the Azure AD portal.
- Navigate to the "Groups" section and ensure the user is added to the correct security group associated with the Business Central environment.
- Access the Microsoft 365 Admin center.
- Navigate to active users and confirm that the user has the necessary licenses.
- Go to the Business Central admin center.
- Select "New Environment" and choose the version to test.
- Clear the browser's cache and cookies before attempting to access the trial environment again.
- Confirm that the email account used for the trial is not linked to any other Business Central tenant.
- Click on the "Try for free" button on the Dynamics 365 Business Central card and enter the work or school email address, following the prompts to complete the signup.
- If the user already has a Business Central license and attempts to start a free trial, they will be informed that they are already a Microsoft customer and prompted to sign in.
