What’s happening?
Experiencing issues with deleted queue entries in Business Central and are seeking ways to identify who deleted these entries.
Reason:
The underlying cause of this is that the Change Log feature was not activated prior to the deletion of the queue entries, which prevents tracking of user activity related to deletions. Additionally, user activity data is sensitive and private, limiting visibility into backend details.
Resolution:
- For future reference, it is recommended to activate the Change Log feature to track deletions and changes to queue entries.
- If the Change Log was not set up before the deletion, there is currently no way to identify who deleted the queue entries.
- In cases where queue entries have been deleted unexpectedly, it is advised to check telemetry data if available, although it may not provide specific deletion timestamps.
- If the job queue entry ID and codeunit information can be provided, further investigation may be possible to determine if the job queue ran recently, and restoration of the environment could be considered to retrieve the deleted entries.
