What’s happening?
The Dynamics Add-in for Excel is not functioning as expected, where the window displays a loading icon that freezes and does not load. The Authentication pop-up fails to appear even after clearing credentials in the developer console.

Reason:
This may be related to local settings or configurations on the user's computer, as it was noted that the add-in loaded correctly on a different Windows computer.


Resolution:

  • Clear the local storage of the add-in by following these steps:
  • Right-click the Dynamics Add-in pane and select "Inspect" to open the browser developer tools.
  • Navigate to the "Application" tab.
  • In the Storage pane, clear instances of the add-in under Local Storage, Session Storage, Cookies, and Shared Storage.
  • Right-click an instance and select "Clear."
  • Refresh the add-in by closing and reopening the Excel file or pressing Ctrl+R while in the developer tools.
  • Test the add-in on a Windows computer to see if the issue persists.
  • If the problem continues, consider uninstalling Office, using an Office Removal Tool to remove any remnants, and then reinstalling Office.
