What’s happening?
Multiple customers are unable to print the MICR line correctly on checks. This functionality was previously operational but has ceased to work across various tenants.
Reason:
The underlying cause of this is related to the MICR fonts not being installed on several server nodes that the client environments are being transferred to. Although some customers have been fixed, reports indicate that the MICR functionality is still not working for others.
Resolution:
- Confirm that the MICR fonts are installed and calibrated correctly for the specific MICR printers in the affected environments.
- Ensure that the correct check layout is selected in the Report settings. Various report IDs can be used, such as:
- 1401 (default report)
- 10411 (Stub/Stub/Check)
- 10412 (Stub/Check/Stub)
- 10413 (Three Checks per Page)
- Verify that all production nodes have been updated with the necessary fonts. If any PDF documents were generated during the periods when the MICR font was missing, they will need to be recreated as they may contain substitution fonts instead.
- For custom check layouts, ensure that the MICR line is set to print in the required format (e.g., t####13B format instead of t####MC7 format).
- If issues persist, engage with the development team to prioritize the resolution of the affected nodes.
